Senior journalist Khalil Jibran, affiliated with the private news channel Khyber News, was tragically shot dead by unidentified gunmen near his home in Landi Kotal town, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP).

According to reports, Jibran’s car broke down close to his residence when he was shot. The gunmen surrounded him, forcibly removed him from his vehicle, and opened fire, killing him instantly.

Jibran, who had previously served as the president of the Landi Kotal Press Club, had reportedly been receiving threats from terrorist groups. His untimely death has sent shockwaves through the journalistic community.

The deceased journalist was laid to rest in his native village, Sultan Khel, with a large number of mourners attending his funeral prayers.

In response to this heinous act, KP Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur has taken immediate notice and directed the authorities to swiftly apprehend those responsible for Jibran’s killing.
