ISLAMABAD: Senior officers at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs have called for a thorough and transparent investigation into the untimely demise of diplomat Dr. Diyar Khan.

The demand comes amidst allegations of severe criticism and humiliation directed towards Khan by junior staff during a National Management Course (NMC).

According to sources within the Ministry, senior officers have penned a letter to the Secretary Establishment, urging for a comprehensive inquiry into the circumstances surrounding Khan’s death.

Moreover, the letter highlights the purported role of junior staff members of the Establishment Division’s National Management Course in subjecting Khan to intense criticism and indignity, on 4 April 2024.

Diyar Khan, reportedly faced severe stress and emotional turmoil as a result of the criticism he endured during a presentation, ultimately leading to a fatal heart attack.

Furthermore, within the letter, they insisted on conducting a comprehensive assessment of the entire NSPP system and its personnel, among other requests.

Furthermore, senior officers have raised concerns regarding the lack of accountability and transparency within the Ministry, urging for swift action to prevent similar incidents in the future.

In addition, the letter, signed by more than 15 officers of grades 20 and 21, underscores the gravity of the situation and the collective demand for justice.
