WEB DESK: A security guard fatally shot the owner of a private security company in Lahore’s Ghalib Market, it emerged on Tuesday.

According to police, the accused confessed that he killed the owner due to his strict behavior towards employees.

The victim, identified as Ghulam Rasool, had just arrived at the parking lot of his office when the incident occurred. CCTV footage showed the suspect approaching Rasool and shooting him in the head.

Bystanders in the market apprehended the suspect and handed him over to the police. The authorities rushed the deceased’s body to the hospital for a post-mortem examination and registered a case to launch an investigation into the murder.

This incident in Lahore is the latest in a string of recent shootings by security guards. In Karachi, two separate incidents claimed the lives of a YouTuber and a teenager.

In one incident, a security guard killed a 35-year-old man at Serena Mobile Market. The deceased, a father of two, made a living through TikTok and vlogging.

In another incident in North Karachi, an argument erupted between a security guard and a 17-year-old boy over picking up garbage. The guard reportedly became angry and shot the boy in the stomach. The injured teenager was taken to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for medical assistance, where he succumbed to his injuries. The accused managed to escape the scene.
