The Punjab Home Department has imposed Section 144 in Lahore, prohibiting the sale of sacrificial animals on the city’s roads and streets.

This restriction mandates that all transactions involving sacrificial animals be confined to eight designated livestock markets within the city limits. The ban is effective immediately and will remain in force until June 20.

This decision follows a request from the Deputy Commissioner of Lahore, highlighting the necessity of these restrictions for the city’s welfare.

A day earlier, the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee confirmed the sighting of the Zil Hajj moon in Pakistan, signaling the start of the Islamic month. Consequently, Eid-ul-Adha will be celebrated nationwide on Monday, June 17.
