By Indian cricket team captain Rohit Sharma has expressed a strong desire to see more cricket matches between India and Pakistan, emphasizing the unique excitement and passion these games generate.
Despite the political tensions that often overshadow the sport, Sharma highlighted the importance of the cricketing rivalry while speaking on a show at Dubai Eye.
“As a cricketer, I want to play cricket. I enjoy being challenged, and the Pakistan team offers just that with their strong young fast bowlers and impressive batting lineup. Overall, they are a very good team,” Sharma stated.
He also noted the special significance of India-Pakistan matches, saying, “An India-Pakistan match is different. People love it more than any other game, and fans eagerly wait to see us play. It’s a great match and something that both teams look forward to.”
Reflecting on the global fan base, Sharma shared his experiences with Pakistani fans. “Messages from Pakistani fans are heartwarming. They love cricket passionately. When we are in England, these fans often approach us with great respect, expressing their admiration for Indian cricketers. It’s always wonderful to hear.”
