Renowned Hotel Owner Arrested in Gas Theft Scandal

The recovery team of Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC) along with Control Gas Theft Operations (CGTO) has continued its operation against gas theft.

During a recent raid at a tea hotel in the Pathan Colony area of Karachi, the authorities discovered an illegal gas connection. According to the recovery team, the hotel owner was operating the hotel by stealing gas directly from the service line.

Police arrested the hotel owner, named Shamsul Haque, after registering a First Information Report (FIR) against him.

According to a spokesperson for the gas company, the accused individuals will be fined according to the amount of gas they are found to have stolen. The spokesperson added that action will continue against gas theft.

Just a few weeks ago, SSGC had also conducted successful raid on a well-known bakery in Karachi. During the raid, the bakery was discovered to be stealing gas for its operations. According to SSGC authorities, a gas theft case has been filed against bakery owner Malik Muhammad Yaseen.
