In a major development for Pakistan’s automotive industry, Regal Automobiles has been granted a licence by the Engineering Development Board (EDB) to begin assembling the country’s first electric SUV. The electric vehicle (EV), known as the Seres 3, will be produced at the company’s plant in Lahore.
Seres 3 Variants and Pricing
The locally assembled Seres 3 will be available in two variants: the Seres 3 (3.5), which comes with a 49kWh battery, and the Seres 3 (4.0), featuring a slightly larger 54kWh battery. Both variants have a seating capacity of five passengers. The price for the Seres 3 is set at Rs 8,390,000.

Production and Launch Details
Regal Automobiles is preparing to begin production at its advanced facility located in Manga Mandi, Lahore. A formal ceremony marking the start of production is expected to take place by the end of the month.
Addressing Rising Fuel Costs and Boosting Employment
Muhammad Adeel Usman, Managing Director of Seres Pakistan, highlighted that the introduction of electric vehicles, especially at a time of increasing fuel prices, would offer sustainable and cost-effective transport solutions. He also emphasised that local assembly would create employment opportunities, further benefiting the country’s economy.
