According to ARY News, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s (PTI) Central Information Secretary Raoof Hassan may be dismissed from his role following concerns raised by party leaders about his performance.

Moreover, Sheikh Waqas Akram is reportedly the leading candidate to replace Hassan as the new information secretary, with PTI founder Imran Khan giving his approval for the change.

The replacement is expected to happen following the appointment of a new secretary general. Omar Ayub’s resignation as the PTI secretary general has already been accepted, following a leadership decision earlier in the day to restructure the party.

In his resignation statement, Omar Ayub, who also serves as the Leader of the Opposition in the National Assembly, mentioned that he had requested Shibli Faraz to submit his resignation to the party founder.

“I am grateful for the party founder’s approval of my resignation,” Ayub said, adding that he had originally submitted his resignation on September 5, which was now accepted, though a previous resignation tendered on June 22 was not approved.

Ayub further explained that the heavy workload, which included attending court hearings, managing duties as the secretary general, and overseeing constitutional matters, had prompted his decision.

Furthermore, he affirmed his commitment to continue supporting the party as a worker alongside the founder of PTI.
