ISLAMABAD: Quaid-i-Azam University (QAU) Islamabad has declared holidays for four consecutive days, including Saturday and Sunday, in the wake of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s (PTI) November 24 protest.
QAU has issued an official notification stating, “Given the current situation in the twin cities of Rawalpindi and Islamabad, and anticipating road closures, it has been decided that the university transport services will remain suspended on Friday, 22 and Monday 25th November 2024.”
“All academic activities and examinations will be halted during these days. However, any examinations along with other academic activities, will resume once the roads are reopened,” the notification read.
The university administration made this decision in light of the upcoming PTI gathering in the federal capital.
