WEB DESK: Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) has awarded Punjab University its remarkable and impressive progress in the global QS rankings.

During a press conference, Punjab University Vice-Chancellor Dr. Khalid Mahmood stated that the university has also seen a significant rise in its global ranking. The QS organization held the Edu Data Summit in Washington, where the Pakistan Embassy in the USA received the award for Punjab University as the fastest-growing institution in Asia.

Dr. Khalid Mahmood mentioned that over the past five years, Punjab University has achieved this honor by competing with universities from China, India, Japan, South Korea, and Singapore. Punjab University secured its position by surpassing many universities with significantly larger resources.

He added that in the new rankings, Punjab University is now ranked as the 570th-best university in the world, showing an improvement of 170 places compared to last year.

Previously, Punjab University was ranked among the top 740-750 universities globally. Achieving a jump of 170 places in the global rankings within a year is extraordinary.

Dr. Khalid Mahmood further congratulated the faculty, administration, and students of Punjab University for this improvement in rankings, highlighting the hard work of the university’s ranking committee. In the category of graduate employability, Punjab University secured the number 1 position in Pakistan.

On this occasion, Ranking Committee Chairman Dr. Usman Awan stated that with adequate funding from the government, Pakistani universities could perform even better.
