The Punjab Textbook Board has announced significant updates to the curriculum books for Class 9th, starting from the next academic year.
According to a notification issued by the board, textbooks for key subjects including Urdu, English, Physics, Chemistry, and Biology will be revised. Furthermore, Computer Science and Mathematics books are set to undergo updates as well.
These revisions will apply to the academic years 2025 and 2026, with the board already initiating the process of updating the curriculum.

In conjunction with this, the Punjab government is set to launch English-spoken classes in public schools, likely starting in October. The School Education Department has completed its preparations, and the first phase of these classes will be rolled out in high schools.
As part of this initiative, commissioners, deputy commissioners, and assistant commissioners will visit schools regularly to assess the progress of the English-speaking classes. They will engage with students in English to evaluate their speaking skills and ensure they are developing self-confidence.
