The Punjab government has unveiled plans to construct luxury houses for senior government officials of grades 20, 21, and 22.

Originally approved at a cost of Rs1.6445 billion for 27 houses, the project has now expanded to include 29 double-storey luxury houses. The inclusion of additional amenities such as a water tank, tube well room, property office, and boundary wall has raised the project’s total cost to nearly Rs2 billion.

The upscale residences, located in Phase 9 of the Defence Housing Authority (DHA) in Lahore, will be built by the Infrastructure Development Authority of the Punjab (IDAP).

The government has set a completion timeline of one year and nine months, reflecting the project’s scale and ambition.

This initiative follows a previous allocation by the Punjab government of Rs2.3 billion for new luxury cars for senior bureaucrats.
