The provincial government of Punjab has decided to resume the laptop scheme for talented university students of the province. The decision was made during a meeting chaired by CM Maryam Nawaz Sharif regarding reforms in the higher education sector.
According to details, CM Maryam ordered the officials to resume the laptop scheme for the students of Punjab. Following her directive, students across different educational institutes of the province will receive laptops from the government after seven years.
During the meeting, the Chief Minister received briefing regarding issues in the higher education. She ordered to establish new universities and colleges on a priority basis in backward districts of the province.

Addressing the meeting, CM Punjab said that establishing international standard universities and colleges in every part of the province is among the top priorities of her government. Officials briefed CM Maryam regarding promotion of higher education, laptops and transport facilities for students.
Moreover, the Chief Minister was informed that more than 6,50,000 students are currently enrolled in the private and public sector universities of Punjab. It includes 44% boys and 56% girls.
