LAHORE: Following the improvement in smog condition, Punjab’s environment department has eased restrictions across Punjab, allowing all outdoor activities to operate from November 22 (Friday) till 8:00 pm.

The notification issued by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Punjab stated, “In light of the recent improvement in the Air Quality Index, all outdoor activities including parks (public & private), zoos, playgrounds, historical places, monuments, museums, outdoor sports events, exhibitions and festivals shall be resumed from 22-11-2024 (Friday) in the whole province till 8:00 pm.”

The authority further advised, “the general public to wear a face mask in open areas, adults more than 65 years of age shall avoid strenuous exercise, people with heart and lung diseases must consult their doctor before visiting outdoors, children with age less than 5 years shall avoid extended hours in playgrounds.”

The EPA clarified that shops, markets, and shopping malls in the districts of Lahore, Multan, Faisalabad, and Gujranwala shall be closed after 8:00 pm, throughout the whole week (including Saturday and Sunday).

However, pharmacies, medical facilities, medical laboratories, vaccination centers, petrol pumps, tandoors, bakeries, grocery stores, dairy shops, sweet shops, vegetable/fruit Shops, and meat Shops will be exempted from the said restriction, the notification read.
