The Punjab government has enforced, Section 144 in Attock district for three months, imposing a ban on the unauthorised mining of all minerals.
This law prohibits the mining of all minerals, including gold, without permission.
The Secretary of Interior Punjab announced that mining activities around the Indus River are banned without proper authorisation. The ban includes the use of machinery for mining or excavation in these areas.
The government aims to safeguard valuable minerals like placer gold, which is considered essential for the national treasury. A notification has been issued by the Punjab Home Department to officially implement this restriction.
