Punjab decides to reduce prices of bakery products

Following the reduction in the prices of roti and naan, the Punjab government has decided to reduce the prices of bakery products.

According to details, Provincial Minister for Food, Bilal Yaseen, recently chaired a meeting in this regard. The meeting was attended by Secretary Food, DG Food Authority, DG Industries, Deputy Commissioner, and the representatives of bakery association and different brands.

Speaking during the meeting, Bilal Yaseen said that during the last two months, the prices of wheat and four have been reduced by up to 48 percent. He pledged to reduce the price of bakery products.

The minister for food added that he has given a deadline until May 27 to all the stakeholders to voluntarily reduce their prices. He stated that the prices of different bakery products should be reduced or strict action will be taken.
