The Punjab cabinet has approved a series of significant measures aimed at improving various aspects of governance and public services. In a meeting presided over by Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, the cabinet members discussed and approved several proposals.
Among the key decisions, the cabinet greenlit the recruitment of 7,354 college teaching interns to enhance the province’s education sector.
A transparent recruitment process will be facilitated through a central online portal. Furthermore, the cabinet approved a special allowance for police personnel serving in the Katcha area, recognizing their challenging duties.

To ensure equitable housing opportunities across Punjab, the chief minister sought a comprehensive and uniform housing policy. The Board of Revenue has been tasked with developing a five-year plan to be presented to the cabinet.
The cabinet also addressed concerns raised about the MDCAT exams for medical college admissions in other provinces, assuring that the process was conducted smoothly in Punjab.
In terms of social welfare, the chief minister sought a plan for a monthly package to support visually impaired individuals. Moreover, the cabinet approved the establishment of a special court to address the needs of persons with disabilities.
