The provincial government of Punjab has announced thousands of teaching jobs across the province. The announcement was made by Punjab School Education Minister Sikandar Hayat.
According to the minister, the provincial government will hire up to 30,000 teachers for government schools across the province. Hayat added that the recruitment process will be conducted in different phases to tackle the existing teacher shortage.
“Depending on the need, we plan to hire between 20,000 to 30,000 teachers during the summer holidays,” he said.

The provincial School Education Minister added that they are trying to “finalize the hiring during the summer vacations to ensure that schools are adequately staffed for the new academic year.”
Moreover, Hayat stated that the remaining teacher shortages will be addressed through a rationalization process. The announcement of the new teaching jobs in Punjab will provide employment opportunities and enhance the educational quality in government schools.
