LAHORE: The Government of Punjab has declared a local public holiday in Lahore for Tuesday, marking the anticipated visit of Iranian President Ibrahim Raisi, according to an official notification.
Signed by the Additional Chief Secretary, the notification confirms the closure of educational institutions, including schools, colleges, and universities, throughout Lahore for the day.
However, administrative operations at the Punjab Civil Secretariat and divisional offices will proceed as usual, while district offices, including the DC office, will remain closed.

In a similar move, Commissioner Karachi Syed Hassan Naqvi announced a public holiday for Karachi on April 23 (Tuesday), citing traffic management concerns related to President Raisi’s visit.
The holiday in Karachi encompasses both private and government offices, as well as educational institutions within the Karachi Division, as per an issued notification.
