After Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Shehryar Afridi made a surprising statement, Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) criticized the former ruling party, accusing them of seeking a return to power with the support of the establishment.
Rana Sanaullah, speaking on Geo News program Naya Pakistan, alleged, “PTI’s ideology is not political,” adding that PTI aimed to be “imposed” on the country with help from the establishment. He proposed that resolving disputes would be possible if all political parties came together and institutions operated within their constitutional boundaries. The former interior minister emphasized that achieving political stability through dialogue would face no objections.
Sanaullah criticized PTI for levelling various allegations against PML-N while openly announcing intentions to engage in dialogue with the establishment. He referenced Afridi’s recent statement hinting at dialogue with the army chief and the Director General Inter-Services Intelligence (DG ISI) instead of the “rejected rulers.” However, PTI did not endorse Afridi’s statement.
During the same program, PTI Secretary Information Raoof Hasan stated that they formed a committee over a year and a half ago to engage in dialogue with the establishment.
