ISLAMABAD: Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi has informed Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Barrister Gohar that the government will not permit the party to hold a protest in the capital, following a recent decision by the Islamabad High Court.

As per details, Mohsin Naqvi telephoned Barrister Gohar Ali Khan and told him that the government was bound by the court’s ruling, which prohibits any form of procession, sit-in, or rally in the capital.

“We must adhere to the Islamabad High Court’s directive,” Naqvi said adding nobody to be allowed to stage sit-in or protest in Islamabad.

Belarusian delegation visit and PTI protest

During the telephone conversation, the Interior Minister also pointed out the upcoming visit of a high-level delegation from Belarus to Islamabad. Mohsin Naqvi said that the delegation led by the country’s president, will arrive in Islamabad on November 24. The visit will continue until November 27.

Mohsin Naqvi said that in such a situation, the government will not allow PTI to enter the capital and stage a protest rally.

He requested Barrister Gohar to postpone the protest rally.

Barrister Gohar Ali Khan said that he would put the issue before the party and inform him of the final decision after consultation.
