Aliya Hamza, leader of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), has been released from Gujranwala Central Jail following an order from the Lahore High Court.
After her release, Hamza proceeded home with her family. The Lahore High Court had previously restrained the transfer of Aliya Hamza from Gujranwala Central Jail to any other city jail.
Moreover, Justice Ali Baqar Najafi issued a written order regarding the hearing of Hamza Jameel’s case, instructing the Punjab government and Attorney Office to present detailed comments and reports at the next hearing.

In addition, Hamza Jameel, Aliya Hamza’s husband, had filed a petition alleging that Hamza was being implicated in political cases. He claimed that after securing bail in one case, she was being named in another.
Furthermore, the court had ordered the provision of details about the registered cases and issued instructions for protective bail.
