Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has declared that it will not participate in the voting process for the 26th constitutional amendment, calling the proceedings “non-transparent and controversial.”
The decision comes just ahead of a critical vote, with both the National Assembly and the Senate set to convene on Sunday to discuss the amendment.
In a statement shared on social media early Sunday, PTI’s Political Committee announced a complete boycott of the amendment vote in both houses of Parliament.

This move adds to the ongoing political tension surrounding the amendment, which has stalled parliamentary proceedings for some time.
The Senate is scheduled to meet at 3 PM, followed by the National Assembly at 6 PM. Meanwhile, the federal cabinet is also set to gather at 3 PM to discuss and potentially approve the proposed legislation.
