QUETTA: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Acting President Yousuf Raza Gilani and political leadership have strongly condemned the suicide bombing at Quetta’s railway station earlier this morning, which left at least 24 people dead and injured 40 others.
Terrorists to pay a heavy price: PM
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, in a statement, strongly condemned the deadly blast and directed the Balochistan government to provide medical aid to the injured on a priority basis.
He said that the terrorists who harmed the lives and property of innocent citizens would have to pay a heavy price. He emphasized that the government and security forces are fully committed to eradicating the menace of terrorism.
He also called for an inquiry report on the tragic incident.
Terrorists ‘enemies of humanity’: Acting President
Acting President Yousuf Raza Gilani said that terrorists are “enemies of humanity” who deliberately harm innocent people. He expressed his heartfelt condolences to the grieving families and strongly condemned the attack.
He reaffirmed that all possible measures would be taken to completely eradicate the means of terrorism.
PPP Supports Initiative to End Terrorism: Bilawal
Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari expressed regret over the martyrdom of innocent citizens in the blast.
“I share in the grief of the families who lost their loved ones in the horrific blast, and I hope for better treatment of the injured,” said the former foreign minister in his statement.
He added that his party supports the initiative to uproot terrorism and eliminate its facilitators.
‘Battle for all of us’, Interior Minister
Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi strongly condemned the targeting of innocent civilians in an inhumane and barbaric act.
He reaffirmed the nation’s commitment to standing alongside law enforcement agencies in the fight against terrorism. Expressing deep grief over the tragic loss of children, he extended his condolences to the grieving families.
“This is a battle for all of us, and with the support of the people, it will continue until every terrorist and their facilitators are eliminated. The nation’s determination to defeat terrorism.” he said.
CM Balochistan Orders Inquiry
Balochistan Chief Minister Sarfaraz Bugti strongly condemned the blast and directed authorities concerned to submit complete report of the bomb blast.
He said that these terrorists now started targeting innocent people, women and children to spread fear among common people but they will never succeed in their nefarious designs.
Ulema, religious scholars demand strong response
Ulema and religious scholars of all schools of thought on Saturday condemned the suicide blast at Quetta’s railway station in the strongest terms and demanded strong response against terrorists and their facilitators.
The Chairman of the Pakistan Ulema Council, Hafiz Muhammad Tahir Mehmood Ashrafi, along with other religious leaders, issued a joint statement condemning terrorism and calling for strong, decisive action against terrorists across the board.
The statement emphasised that terrorists and their facilitators should not be spared at any cost.
“Those who killed innocent Pakistanis at the Quetta railway station are brutal terrorists and murderers. They have nothing to do with Islam or humanity,” read the statement.
The religious leadership reiterated that the entire nation stands in solidarity with Pakistan’s armed forces and security agencies in the fight against these khawarij (terrorists).
