The Anti-Terrorism Court in Lahore has issued arrest warrants for Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leaders Sanam Javed and Rubina Jamil in connection with the arson and rioting case registered at Shadman Police Station related to the events of May 9, 2023.

Moreover, the hearing for the Shadman arson and rioting case was held in the Anti-Terrorism Court in Lahore.

The court issued bailable arrest warrants for Sanam Javed and Rubina Jamil due to their absence. The court had summoned the accused for attendance.

It is noteworthy that on July 15, the Islamabad High Court ordered the release of Sanam Javed and allowed her to return home. Prior to this, after her release by the District and Sessions Court of Islamabad, she was re-arrested by Islamabad Police.

The court had accepted the request of Sanam Javed’s lawyers to discharge her from the case, and she was sent home after her release. However, shortly after, she was re-arrested by Islamabad’s Ramna Police.
