ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has formed a coordination committee for the party march to the federal capital, scheduled for November 24.
Additional Secretary General PTI Firdous Shamim Naqvi has issued a notification for the formation of the committees.
the notification stated that a 12-member committee has been formed for the twin cities, including 6 PTI leaders from Islamabad and Rawalpindi.
The committee includes Aamir Mughal, Sher Afzal Marwat, Shoaib Shaheen, Syed Ali Bukhari, Qazi Tanveer and Malik Aamir from Islamabad.
The Rawalpindi coordination committee includes Seemabia Tahir, Shehryar Riaz, Amir Afzal, Aqeel Khan, Raja Basharat and Chaudhry Ajmal Sabir.
The march to the federal capital, which PTI has described as a final push to challenge the government, pushed authorities to implement a series of measures designed to pre-emptively thwart the protest and maintain order in Islamabad.
Authorities have imposed a two-month ban on gatherings of more than five people in Islamabad, effective immediately.
The local media reports say that Islamabad police, in a letter, have asked authorities for the deployment of 9,000 Rangers and FC personnel, equipped with anti-riot gear, beginning on November 22.
These units- five thousand Rangers, four thousand FC- will be tasked with securing key government installations and public spaces, with a particular focus on preventing large gatherings.
