FAISLABAD: The Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) claimed that Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has instructed the Inspector General of Police to conduct raids in the Faisalabad division to apprehend workers ahead of the party’s scheduled protest on Friday, as reported by Dawn.

According to the media reports, PTI Central Punjab general secretary Hammad Azhar asserted that the party is gearing up for a protest demonstration not only in Faisalabad but also in all other districts of the province. The PTI plans to collaborate with five opposition parties for these protests.

In a separate development, detained PTI leader Dr Yasmin Rashid spoke to the media from the Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) premises on Thursday.

She accused Pakistan Muslime League –Nawaz (PML-N) leaders of engaging in deals for their release from jails and stressed that the PTI would not entertain any such arrangements. Referring to PML-N leader Rana Sanaullah’s remarks suggesting a possible deal, Rashid firmly stated that their leader would not compromise.

Furthermore, Rashid further lamented the delay in the processing of bail applications by the prosecution, which she claimed had been pending for several months.

She highlighted the resilience of incarcerated PTI members Sanam Javed and Aliya Hamza, describing them as symbols of resistance who have endured various hardships without succumbing to pressure.

Adding to the grievances, Senator Ejaz Chaudhry, another detained PTI leader, expressed frustration over being denied attendance at the session of the Upper House, accusing authorities of obstructing his parliamentary duties.
