WEB DESK: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf senior leadership challenged the  Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) summoned notice regarding a controversial tweet in the Islamabad High Court.

PTI Chairman Gohar Khan and Information Secretary Raoof Hassan filed a petition in the Islamabad High Court, stating that the purpose of the post from the PTI founder’s X account was to convey a message of unity for Pakistan.

Furthermore, the petition claims that the post aimed to encourage a national dialogue to resolve the country’s crisis and that political opponents misrepresented the post from the PTI founder’s X account.

According to the petition, the government machinery sprang into action, and a complaint was filed by the FIA Deputy Director, which seems like a decision without trial.

Notices have been issued to Umar Ayub, Gohar Khan, and Rauf Hassan regarding the video on the PTI founder’s ‘X’ account.

Moreover, the petition requests the court to nullify the complaint and summons notices and to restrain the parties from arresting or harassing the petitioners until the petition is heard.

The petition names the Secretary of Interior, the complainant FIA Deputy Director, and the investigative officer as respondents.
