Former Prime Minister Imran Khan, the founder of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), spoke informally to journalists during a court case at Adiala Jail. Khan expressed deep concern over what he perceives as attacks on the Supreme Court.
He warned that if efforts to dismantle the judiciary continue, PTI would organise protests on the streets.
Khan accused the ruling elite of destroying national institutions by appointing corrupt and incompetent individuals. He condemned the appointment of leaders who received minimal electoral support, claiming this has led to the country’s downfall.
Moreover, Khan highlighted Pakistan’s recent poor performance in cricket, particularly its whitewash by Bangladesh. He criticised the current cricket administration for being filled with appointees lacking the necessary expertise, contrasting this with his own previous selection of professional cricketers like Ramiz Raja for key positions.

Khan also raised concerns about the treatment he’s receiving in prison, stating that despite the harsh conditions, he has refrained from lodging complaints. He highlighted discrepancies in the treatment of political figures and claimed that while he is confined and isolated, others like Nawaz Sharif and Asif Ali Zardari enjoyed better conditions.
He criticized the handling of institutions like the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) and alleged that these bodies are being misused against his party. Khan stated that despite these challenges, he remains committed to his cause and urged that any further attacks on the judiciary would lead to nationwide protests.
Lastly, Khan addressed the closure of Al-Qadir University, asserting that such measures would harm students more than himself, and stressed the importance of educational and healthcare institutions in Pakistan.
