WEB DESK: Former Army Chief General (Retd) Qamar Javed Bajwa has responded to allegations made by Bushra Bibi on Thursday, the wife of PTI founder Imran Khan, dismissing them as false.
However, sources close to General Bajwa refuted these claims. Speaking on Geo News’ program Aaj Shahzeb Khanzada Kay Sath, senior journalist Ansar Abbasi shared that Bajwa’s close associates termed Bushra Bibi’s statements as “entirely false.”
According to Ansar Abbasi, Bajwa’s sources stated, “I am ready to go to the Kaaba and swear that the allegations made by Bushra Bibi are baseless.” They emphasized that no calls were received after the visit to Medina and that Bushra Bibi’s allegations have “distorted the truth entirely.”
Bushra Bibi, in a video statement, alleged that after Imran Khan returned barefoot from Madina, General Bajwa began receiving calls questioning his leadership decision.
She claimed that General Bajwa was told, “What kind of person have you brought into power? We don’t want such people.” She further alleged that accusations against Imran Khan and defamatory campaigns, including labeling him a “Jewish agent,” were initiated following this incident.
The allegations and subsequent denial have sparked a fresh wave of debate amid Pakistan’s already polarized political environment.
