Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Governor Faisal Karim Kundi voiced serious concerns over the provincial government’s response to ongoing security issues.
Speaking to the media on Sunday, Kundi criticised the KP Chief Minister, accusing him of “going into hiding” during a time of crisis and “playing on both sides of the wicket” to ensure that the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder remains in jail.
Governor Kundi further addressed speculation regarding the possible imposition of the governor’s rule in KP, stating that the decision rests with the federal government. “The center knows best what the solution to the problem is,” he remarked.
He also accused PTI of harboring an anti-state agenda to disrupt national stability, including sabotaging the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) session.

In an interview with ARY News’ program Sawaal Ye Hai, Kundi expanded on these concerns, highlighting the law and order breakdown in southern KP, where he claimed the provincial government’s writ had “completely vanished.”
Moreover, he condemned the government’s inaction on increasing incidents of targeted killings and kidnappings, while also criticising PTI for organising protests he believes are designed to incite chaos in the country.
Rumors of the governor’s rule have intensified as the federal and provincial governments grapple with these escalating challenges. Governor Kundi’s comments come amid rising political tensions and security concerns in the region.
