Mohammad Yasir Sultan, the best javelin thrower in Pakistan after Arshad Nadeem, has stated that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif had promised him 5 million rupees, but he has not received the reward yet.

Speaking at a press conference in Lahore with his father, he said, “I am a bronze and silver medalist of Asia. In 2023, after winning the Asian bronze medal, the Prime Minister announced a reward for me, which I have not received yet.”

Yasser Sultan added, “My father asks me daily, I call, but I get no response. I am tired of running around; I should be awarded in the same manner as Arshad Nadeem when I return home.”

The Pakistani athlete commented, “We are not treated equally. I have received offers to play abroad, including from Dubai and several other countries, but I am not given the opportunity to go abroad for training. We should be respected; we are not asking for money to run our households.”

He demanded that the Prime Minister deliver on the promised reward and provide facilities. “Today is a day of double joy for us; Arshad Nadeem has made the country proud, and my aim is the same. I am a junior to Arshad Nadeem.”

On this occasion, Yasser Sultan’s father said, “It has been more than a year, and not a single penny has been given for encouragement. He was also promised a job, but neither a check nor a job has been received. They are big people with big words.”
