Prime Minister (PM) Shehbaz Sharif will address 79th Session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) on September 27th.
Attending the UNGA session from September 23 to 27, PM Shehbaz will speak on the importance of addressing long-standing issues on the agenda of the UN Security Council (UNSC) such as Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) and Palestine.
Currently, the prime minister is in London and will depart for New York on Monday (today).

Who is going with PM Shehbaz Sharif?
Deputy PM and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar was also scheduled to travel to the US for the UNGA session, however, his trip was cancelled hours before PM Shehbaz left for London.
During his visit to the USA, PM Shehbaz will also hold meetings with various world leaders on the sidelines of the UNGA session.
He is expected to return to Pakistan in the last week of September.
This will mark PM Shehbaz’s second speech to the General Assembly, he last addressed it in 2022.
