Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif unveils major initiatives for youth development

Addressing the International Day of Youth event organised by the Prime Minister’s Youth Programme, the Prime Minister announced the distribution of one million smartphones to high-achieving students this year.

He stated that the smartphones would be a gift from the federal government, emphasizing the role of modern education and technology in driving the country’s progress.

PM highlighted the potential of Pakistan’s youth to elevate the nation, provided they have access to education and resources in Information Technology and Artificial Intelligence. He expressed his vision of sparking a revolution in Pakistan, drawing parallels with the technological advancements witnessed in China.

Reflecting on the nation’s challenges, Sharif lamented the heavy burden of debt despite the country’s abundant resources and 77 years of independence. He pointed out that extreme poverty hinders many from affording basic needs, contrasting the hardships faced by the majority with the privileges enjoyed by the elite.

In a bid to boost agricultural production, the Prime Minister announced his personal funding for the education of 1,000 agricultural graduates in China. Additionally, Huawei committed to sending 200,000 Pakistani youth for IT training and advanced education. Sharif also mentioned that he would unveil a comprehensive development plan for the country on August 14.
