Customs officials at Allama Iqbal International Airport successfully thwarted an attempt to smuggle over 65 high-value mobile phones, leading to the arrest of a Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) air hostess and two passengers.
Moreover, the incidents occurred in two separate operations involving flights arriving from Dubai.
Customs officials apprehended Nadia Batool, a PIA air hostess, as she tried to smuggle 30 mobile phones concealed in various parts of her body. The estimated value of the seized phones exceeds Rs10 million, highlighting the scale of the smuggling attempt.
In addition, authorities detained a couple, Arshad and Fariha, who had arrived on another flight from Dubai. The duo was found with 37 mobile phones affixed to their bodies, prompting immediate action from Customs officials, who seized the devices and took the couple into custody.

The Customs Department has initiated a comprehensive investigation into the smuggling case, focusing on the networks involved in the illegal trade. All three individuals are currently in custody as legal proceedings are set to commence.
