PESHAWAR: The Peshawar High Court has given the federal government a 15-day deadline to respond to a petition seeking a complete ban on TikTok. The petition argues that authorities have failed to remove ‘profane and obscene’ content from the app.
The case, scheduled for a hearing on June 20, will be presided over by a bench comprising Chief Justice Ishtiaq Ibrahim and Justice Sahibzada Asadullah.

The petition was filed by lawyer Imran Khan, who has called for the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA), the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA), and the Ministry of Information to take action against individuals using TikTok in Pakistan and to permanently ban the platform.
According to media reports, the court’s directive reflects growing concerns over content deemed inappropriate by some segments of society, prompting legal actions aimed at stricter regulation of social media platforms.
