Petrol and diesel prices in Pakistan are expected to drop starting October 1, 2024, as the government considers providing relief to consumers amid a notable decline in global oil rates.

Moreover, sources indicate that while discussions are ongoing, exact figures for the price reduction have not been finalised.

Additionally, Brent crude oil prices have fallen by $0.50, now at $72.27 per barrel, and US crude prices have also dipped by 37 cents. This decline raises hopes of reduced fuel costs for Pakistani consumers.

Furthermore, the government reviews fuel prices biweekly, adjusting based on international oil market fluctuations, exchange rates, and local demand.

Recently, petrol prices were reduced by Rs10 per litre to Rs249.10, while diesel dropped by Rs13.6 per litre to Rs249.69, effective from September 16. Further adjustments are expected in line with the global trend.
