Loadshedding protests: Negotiations successful between PTI MPA and Peshawar’s Grid Station

Protesters, led by a Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Member of the Provincial Assembly (MPA) named Fazl Elahi, ended their protest outside Peshawar’s Rehman Baba Grid Station on Saturday after receiving assurances from the utility company that it would reduce prolonged power cuts.

The protesters were assured that load shedding would not exceed 10 hours and that feeders in the area would be supplied with adequate power.

According to the Peshawar Electric Supply Company (PESCO), the protesters surrounded the grid station and forcibly activated the feeders.

The protesters threatened to seize control of the grid station if the ongoing load shedding continues. Fazal Elahi warned that the Hazar Khawani Grid Station could also be closed, resulting in a power outage extending to Islamabad.

Meanwhile, the Meteorological Department has reported that the weather in Peshawar is expected to remain hot and dry.
