PCB reveals salary details of national cricket team players

WEB DESK: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has unveiled the monthly salary details for the national cricket team players, highlighting substantial increases across all player categories.

According to media reports, category A players are now entitled to a monthly salary of Rs4.5 million, while category B players receive Rs3 million per month. These figures represent significant raises introduced in the latest contracts issued by the PCB.

Category A players experienced a remarkable 202 per cent salary increase, and category B players saw a substantial 144 per cent rise. Additionally, players in categories C and D enjoyed notable increases of 135 per cent and 127 per cent, respectively.

The categorisation of players is performance-based, with the new contracts announced by the PCB in September last year.

Top players Babar Azam, Shaheen Afridi, and Muhammad Rizwan were placed in category A, each earning a monthly salary of Rs4.5 million. Category B includes notable players such as Shadab Khan, Fakhar Zaman, Haris Rauf, and Naseem Shah, who earn up to Rs3 million per month.

For players in categories C and D, the monthly salaries range from Rs750,000 to Rs1.5 million. Imad Wasim is listed under category C, while Iftikhar Ahmed, Hasan Ali, and Saim Ayub are placed in category D.

In addition to their monthly salaries, players also receive fixed match fees and match awards across the three formats, further enhancing their overall earnings.

    Should cut their salaries by 75%
