The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has officially dismissed reports from a UK publication suggesting that the final of the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 might be shifted to the UAE if India qualifies for the tournament.
In response to the circulating rumours, a PCB spokesperson reaffirmed the board’s commitment to hosting the tournament entirely in Pakistan. “We have no intention of moving the final from Pakistan,” the spokesperson stated.
He emphasised that preparations for the event are progressing well, and the PCB is optimistic about delivering an unforgettable experience for fans and players alike.
To accommodate the anticipated influx of spectators and international teams, stadiums across the country are undergoing significant enhancements.
The Champions Trophy is scheduled to run from February 19 to March 9, with a reserve day on March 10. Pakistan is grouped with cricket giants India, Bangladesh, and New Zealand in Group A, while Group B features England, South Africa, Australia, and Afghanistan.
The tournament’s matches will take place in Karachi, Lahore, and Rawalpindi, with Lahore set to host the final on March 9. Karachi’s National Stadium will kick off the tournament with the opening match and one semi-final, while Rawalpindi will host five matches, including the second semi-final on March 6.
