Pakistan’s Historic Lunar Mission ICUBE-Q Set to Launch This Friday

Pakistan will launch its lunar mission, ICUBE-Q, aboard China’s Chang’e 6 probe from Hainan, China, as announced by IST.

ICUBE-Q, developed in collaboration with Shanghai University SJTU and Pakistan’s Suparco, features two cameras for lunar surface imaging.

The satellite was integrated into the Chang’e 6 mission following qualification and testing.

The launch is scheduled for May, with live coverage available on the IST website and social media platforms.

China’s mission aims to collect lunar samples from the far side of the moon, including the CubeSat Satellite iCube-Q from Pakistan.

CubeSats are small satellites used for scientific research, technology development, and educational initiatives in space exploration.

Their compact size and low cost enable universities, research institutions, and commercial entities to participate in space missions.
