ISLAMABAD: The federal government on Wednesday announced winter vacation for public educational institutions in Islamabad.
According to an official notification issued by the Federal Directorate of Education, schools in the jurisdiction of Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) will remain closed from December 30, 2024, to January 8, 2025.
Classes are scheduled to resume on January 9, 2025, the notification read.
The notification also requires school principals to submit a plan for the academic improvement of students.
Earlier, the Private Educational Institutions Regulatory Authority (PEIRA) announced winter vacation in all private educational institutions across Islamabad from Decemebr 21, 2024, till January 5, 2025.
According to the notification, all private educational institutions (PEIs) will resume educational activities on January 6, 2025 (Monday), the notification read.
On the other hand, the winter holidays in Punjab for all public and private schools began on December 23, 2024, and will remain until January 13, 2025.
