QUETTA: The Balochistan government on Saturday announced winter holidays for schools and colleges across the province.
According to a notification issued by the Education Department of Balochistan, holidays for schools and other educational institutions in cold areas of the province will commence on December 16.
Winter holidays in Balochistan warm areas, however, will start from January 1, 2025. The educational institutions in warm areas will remain closed only for ten days.
As per notification, winter vacations in cold areas will start from next Monday till February 28, 2025. All educational institutions in cold areas will remain closed for 65 days.
Earlier, the Punjab Education Department has announced winter vacations for schools across Punjab.
According to Punjab Secretary of Schools, Khalid Nazir Wattoo, all schools will remain closed for 20 days, from December 20, 2024, to January 10, 2025.
Students and staff will resume regular academic activities after the winter break.
All the educational institutions in Punjab were reopened on November 20 after the smog holidays as the smog condition improved. This decision was taken after the improvement in the air quality in Punjab.
