Dry, cold conditions expected to persist

WEBDESK: The weather across most parts of Pakistan is expected to remain cold and dry over the next 12 hours, with very cold conditions in hilly areas during the morning and night.

Light rain or snow may occur in isolated areas, including Kashmir, Gilgit-Baltistan, Northeast Punjab, Upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Murree, Galliyat, and surrounding regions.

Smog and moderate to dense fog are likely to persist in the plains of Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and upper Sindh during the morning and night, while frost is expected in upper regions during early hours.

Temperatures Recorded in Major Cities:

This morning, temperatures across major cities in Pakistan have been recorded: Islamabad at 5°C, Lahore at 9°C, and Karachi at 10°C. Peshawar experienced a temperature of 4°C, while Quetta recorded a chilly -3°C. Gilgit’s temperature stood at -1°C, and both Murree and Muzaffarabad were at 1°C. These cold conditions are expected to continue throughout the day, with residents in the northern and hilly regions facing even lower temperatures.
Cloudy weather with chances of rain and snow is expected in Srinagar, Leh, Pulwama, and Anantnag. Very cold and partly cloudy weather will prevail in Shopian and Baramula, while Jammu will experience partly cloudy but cold conditions.

Residents are advised to prepare for cold and foggy conditions and take necessary precautions, especially while traveling in affected areas.
