LONDON: Chief Minister (CM) Punjab Maryam Nawaz, while talking to the media in London, clarified that she does not have throat cancer, but a parathyroid condition.
She added that she dislikes playing the victim, so she never talks about her health in the media. However, she had to address this issue because the wrong news was circulated.
Addressing criticism regarding her choice of surgery in Switzerland, Maryam said that a parathyroid condition can only be treated in Switzerland and the United States.
Maryam also addressed the criticism she was facing for leaving the country while her province was grappling with issues. She said that she would return to Pakistan in two days.
Earlier this month, Maryam Nawaz left Pakistan for Geneva, Switzerland, to undergo a medical checkup for her thyroid gland. She later travelled to London, where she is currently staying with her father, PML-N President Nawaz Sharif.
