ISLAMABAD: The US Embassy in Pakistan has issued a travel advisory for its citizens advising them to avoid the Serena Hotel in Peshawar.
The mission in its advisory asked citizens to keep off the Serena Hotel in Peshawar between November 27 and December 16. The warning was issued based on credible security information.
“They are supposed to avoid the hotel and the area near the hotel during that time and reconsider travel plans,” it emphasised. “U.S. citizens are reminded of the ‘Do Not Travel’ Travel Advisory for Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province because of terrorism, dated September 10, 2024.”
Those in the area have been advised to practice top caution and leave immediately if found unexpectedly nearby.
According to the mission advisory, US citizens are to revise their personal security plans, keep updated with the local media, low profile, and take keen observation of their surroundings.
The advisory also included carrying personal identification; cooperating with local authorities and going through travel reports notifications.
