KARACHI: An undertrial prisoner (UTP) allegedly involved in a drug case was brought to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JPMC) in Karachi for a medical check from where he escaped.
The accused, identified as Agha Salman, was imprisoned at the District Jail Malir. He was brought to the hospital for an MRI (Magnetic Resonance Imaging) scan.
Due to the guard’s negligence, the accused managed to flee from the washroom window of the hospital’s Radiology Department.
According to the details, the police have suspended the duty police guard and initiated an investigation to determine how he escaped and to catch the fleeing prisoner.
