United Kingdom High Commissioner to Pakistan, Jane Marriott, has unveiled plans to simplify the visa process for Pakistani travelers heading to Britain.
According to the British High Commission in Islamabad, the UK is expanding its e-Visa services to include new biometric users, enabling applicants to monitor their immigration status online.
Moreover, UK Visas and Immigration (UKVI) online account will be necessary for accessing the e-Visa system, tourists will not be required to set up an account.
“The UK immigration system is transitioning to digital,” the statement highlighted, noting that physical documents will be replaced by an online immigration status.

Additionally, it was mentioned that those receiving a UK visa valid for less than six months, including for tourism, will not need a UKVI account.
“This technological advancement will streamline a critical aspect of the visa process, enhance security, and decrease reliance on paper documents,” the high commissioner noted.
She emphasised that the new process is free, secure, and user-friendly, offering a more efficient method for travelers to manage their immigration status.
