On Saturday, police successfully rescued a Swiss tourist who had become stranded in the Chitral mountains of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa after losing contact with officials. Amandeo, the tourist, had ventured into the mountains for a trek and lost contact thereafter. He sought shelter in a cattle house to shield himself from heavy rain and snowfall.

Earlier in February, the district administration along with the Upper Swat Development Authority (USDA) conducted a similar rescue operation. They successfully retrieved stranded tourists and their vehicles from the stunning Gabral and Palogah areas of Kalam, which had been cut off by heavy snowfall and avalanches.

The tourists had found themselves stranded due to road closures caused by snow-related incidents. Fortunately, the locals in the area demonstrated remarkable hospitality and provided care to the stranded individuals until they were safely rescued.
