ISLAMABAD: The Sunday weather update brings cold and cloudy skies for Islamabad and different cities of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Gilgit Baltistan (GB) and Balochistan.

According to the 24-hour weather forecast issued by the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), rain and snowfall over the hills are expected in north Balochistan, upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit-Baltistan, Kashmir, and the Potohar region.

Cold and dry weather is likely to prevail over other parts of the country. Smog/fog (in patches) is likely in isolated plain areas of Punjab and upper Sindh during the morning.

Chief Meteorologist Sardar Sarfraz said that a western weather system has entered Balochistan. He further said that the system is moving toward northern Pakistan, with cold winds expected to cool Karachi.

Karachi’s temperatures could drop to 16°C (61°F) at night and rise to 30°C (86°F) during the day. Cooler weather is likely after December 4.

The PMD’s Early Warning Center forecasts light rain and drizzle in rural Sindh, including Qambar Shahdadkot, Jacobabad, Larkana, and Shikarpur.
